The  Tool Group of Canada is indebted to Robert Tremblay, Historien, Division de la conservation,Musée des sciences et de la technologie du Canada, Government of Canada  for providing the following index of Canadian Tool Manufacturers. It originally appeared as an appendix from "Histoire Des Outils Manuels Au Canada". It is available in English and French.

The Tool Group of Canada maintains a reference library consisting of over 700 books, ctalogues, and pamphlets.  Members of the Tool Group of Canada may borrow "shippable" books by mail at $6 or $9 according to size. Return postage is to be paid as well. Alternatively, members, may visit the library to browse and research. Please contact our librarian, Jim Packham, for more details (see the last page of our publication, Yesterday's Tools, for contact information). The index of the library is attached and you may download and search it.

The library has its foundation in the gift of Raymond Townsend, an early member, who acted as technical advisor for the development of Old Fort William in Thunder Bay. Ray worked at Colonial Williamsburg for many years, edited the E.A.I.A. Chronicle for 14 years, and published more than 250 articles. He offered his collection to the Tool Group of Canada and it was greatfully received. The library has doubled in size with the steady acquisition of publications over the years.
